The refractive index of ametrine generally ranges from 1.544 to 1.553, resulting in a soft, balanced brilliance rather than strong dispersion. Natural ametrine is found almost exclusively in Bolivia, where geological conditions allow the coexistence of both color zones within a single crystal.
